This crumbling beach house suffered from rot and termite damage that required taking it down to the studs and performing a complete facelift.
Due to the tight envelope, the house is hyper-efficient. It features spray-foam insulation throughout and passive solar heating. Electric radiant wall panels provide additional heat on foggy or cloudy days. The design allows the house to be cooled through stack-effect convection.
Let’s not forget the amazing views of the beach and Monterey Bay from the kitchen and living room provided by the efficient sliding glass doors.
